Within Olly Murs digipak, we can see aspects of synergy in which he also used in his music video. This makes it easy for the audience to visual identify and recognise a link between his products.
As we can see from this photo of his album cover, he uses quite similar colours in tone. Black,White and a variation of greys. He is smartly dressed and is wearing braces.
If we now look at his video for troublemaker-
We can immediately see a visual link between the colours he used on his album and in this video, lots of grey, black and white is continually used throughout this video. Within the video he is also smartly dressed and wearing braces just like on his album cover. All of these things contribute to the audience identifying what promotional products are from Olly Murs
This is the front panel to my digipak, i believe its near enough finished. However there are certain things i am unhappy about but aren't able to change. It took me over 2 hours to edit mollys hair within the image so we are actually able to see it, however the left side still looks slightly odd. With the left hand side there is also a black line which is running through the panel just above the word lights. This unfortunately i cannot get rid of without getting rid of the whole background image.
Back Panel
Personally although i am really trying with this project I'm finding it really difficult.
Before Christmas I had only begun to design my Digipak and deciding what colours would go well and match our aspect of Synergy - Lights. I knew I would want to overlap images and merge them together through changing th opacity but finding these images was a vital process as they would have to match the images I'd chosen for the outside and inside of the Digipak

I searched for images that has bokeh lights as I would want to use them for overlapping and for the spine of the CD cover. I first found an image of purple and pink bokeh lights which matched our colour scheme. However, I saw that aspects of the image were blurry and I wanted to add an effect that would make it look abstract.
On Photoshop I found this effect called 'Liquidify' which allowed me to use a brush tool and distort the image so the lights looked like they were melting.
Although this effect may create the impression it would make my Digipak seem a little odd, I feel that it works and the brightness of the colours link to our synergy idea.
The next step was to look at the type of fonts I would use which would link to my genre. I knew that I did not want to use a cursive or times new roman style font as it would create the impression that the genre of musci would be classical. I found a font called Lao MN which matched what I wanted to accheive it was streched out and quite sharp.
I am happy with the choices and effects that I have made sofar and have almost finished my Digipak but still need to do my poster.
Colour scheme is always important, especially for our ancillary work. Our synergy being quite a general theme (lights as you probably know by now) Therefore, the lighting colours that worked well for us were deep purple, light tints of pink as well. Moreover, in terms of repeating key moments in the video, such as images of my eyes that featured quite a lot; this aspect has been drawn in to parts of my CD case and ancillary work.
In terms of costume we wanted something different from what I wore in the music videos, which was quite dressy although linked to our audience of aspirers (targeting our youthful audience by wearing high-street brands) We wanted to keep our target audience drawn to the idea that they can relate to our artist, therefore I opted for a shirt which was quite casual as opposed to formal, it also included the perfect colourings that would match our purple brokeh lights.
The colours can also link to our genre of music- House, as its quite vibrant like a house video they normally follow the conventions of night life, whether that be in a club under strobe lights or out in their city; which is the aspect we chose to follow. Overall, I feel that my costume was a good choice as it conforms to our synergy ideas.
